Texas Trout Fishing

Here's a picture of my two Texas grandsons, they live in Austin. The Texas Dept. of Fish and Game stock a few rainbows in selected ponds and the boys and their Dad (Bill Jr.) took advantage of the opportunity. They used cheese for bait. Wish I could have joined them. Just check out the smiles on these guys, I think a good time was had by all!!!

Softwater Season is Over, Bring on the Ice

Put my boat away for the season, latest I have ever used it. Worst day of the year!

Now I'm getting ready for the ice fishing season, just started ice fishing last season and put some decent gear together. I'm not a huge fan of ice fishing but it's a great way to get out with good freinds and blow the stink off, in other words so I don't go stir crazy. Checked all of my gear and got it ready to go, broke down and picked up a Lowrance X 67c Ice Machine, looking forward to using it and posting a few reports to the blog.
