Grumman Canoe

Picked up a Grumman canoe earlier this year with the hopes of getting into some of the back country trout lakes. It is stable and doesn't leak a drop, equipped with a motor mount and an electric motor (for this old fart) it is doing exactly what I thought it would.

Have used it several times, so far, in some small weed choked back lakes and small rivers that looked great for LMB. Wasn't disappointed, I had never fished topwater for Bass and it turned out to be an exciting way to fish and enjoy the tranquility of some of the lakes our region has to offer. My favourite method was using plastic frogs in the lily pads and slop, didn't produce any monsters but a couple of 4 lbers and about 100 smaller ones in four outings is a lot of fun.

With the cooler weather and the trout getting more active I expect to get a lot of use out of it in the next couple of months. Check back for some trout reports, hopefully picture heavy, will be out after some rainbows and or specks this week with my grandson Brenden.
